I completed the Relax and Renew® Level 1 restorative yoga teacher training with Judith Hanson Lasater in 2012 and the Level 2 training in 2016. Judith defines restorative yoga as, “the use of props to support the body in positions of ease and comfort to facilitate health and relaxation.” I had been searching out restorative yoga classes for years prior, after regularly taking classes from a teacher at Harmony Yoga who had trained with Judith. After completing my Relax and Renew® Level 1 teacher training, I experienced the deeply healing benefits of a daily restorative yoga practice, with 20 minutes of savasana at the core.
When you bring yoga out of the studio and into your home and transform it from a weekly or infrequent activity to a daily practice, that is when you experience its greatest benefits. There is something deeply healing in a daily restorative yoga practice. The amazing benefits I experience through my own restorative yoga practice inspire me to encourage my clients to integrate a regular restorative yoga practice into their own personal wellness program.
I offer private restorative yoga sessions, alone or in combination with yoga nidra, in my office. I also work with people to design a restorative practice for home so that restorative yoga’s benefits can be most fully experienced and enjoyed.
